the best day of our lives.
Sweetest day of my life.
No words could truly come close to describing it.
But I will try my hardest.
I was scheduled for an induction at 5 am the morning of June 20th.
I didn't want to be induced but he was getting to be quite a big boy, they were worried I wouldn't be able to get him out.
We got there and they got me hooked up to the IV, after 3 attempts of finding my vein and blowing out all 3.
They started up the pitocin and we waited, and waited and waited.
I was told I should rest (Jonathan and I both had about 1 1/2 hours of sleep, we both agreed it was like Christmas Eve night on steroids) but of course, I couldn't sleep a wink.
At 11:30 am the doctor came in. I hadn't had any discomfort so far at all.
He broke my water, and kaboom. The contractions came flooding in. So the next 2 hours or so are a complete blur to me. Pain does that I guess. I ended up getting the epidural, they had to hold me down just to give it to me. I actually made Jonathan throw out his back from holding me down, sorry baby :(
Once it kicked in I was able to relax a little, but after about an hour the epi wore off quite a bit and I was miserable again. It had only been an hour since I was at about 5 cm, so I was very discouraged at this point. I didn't want to do this anymore. Then my midwife came in, check me and said the best words I've ever heard, "You are a 9, we can start pushing." What!? YES!! I all the sudden had a new wind, our sweet, perfect boy was going to be here soon! I couldn't even believe it. Well, I won't get into too many of the details of the actual birth, but lets say it is by far the hardest thing I've ever done. I reached a point of "I CAN NOT do this." But Jonathan, my mother, my sister Tiffany and Jonathan's mother Tonya then all became my strength. I was so surrounded by love and they each brought some sort of strength to the table to get me through.
At 4:32 pm Tobyn Iver Hobby was born. There were some complications and he had fluid in his lungs when he came out, he was put onto my chest and I was so overwhelmed, overjoyed and exhausted. But then they took him right away. I didn't know what was happening. They had him on my left and were suctioning out his mouth, over and over and over. I was petrified. I kept looking to Jonathan for reassurance, he was so strong. The kept saying he was fine, they just didn't like how his breathing was sounding and they were going to take him to the NICU for a little while. While it could have been so much worse, that's nothing anyone wants to hear about their baby.
They took him away, I got all cleaned and stitched up and ate the best cheeseburger of my life.
They decided within the first hour of him in there that he was perfectly healthy. That was at about 5:30.
We didn't get him in our room until 11pm that night though! We thought we were going to DIE.
But oh, when he finally got there... That moment of him being handed to us, our sweet son, and getting to hold him without anyone taking him away was absolutely priceless.
I slept maybe an hour that night. I didn't want to waste any time not just looking at him, and holding his super tiny body. I will never forget the love that quickly grew and multiplied just in that one night. Its unreal.

fancy little waddles
We are so close!
I officially feel like an elephant.
But I'm totally ok with that, because we meet our sweet boy in a little over a month!
He is supposed to be the size of a honeydew melon, but I'd beg to differ that he isn't the size of 3 watermelons.
Not to complain,
but it is so hot.
Why can't it just be Winter this Summer like it was Summer last Winter?
I'd be able to wear more than one layer perhaps without feeling like I'm melting.
Enough of that, we are almost done.
I just can't believe it.
Hold tight my sweet baby.

sweet child of mine...
Here a few of the maternity pictures that a dear and fellow photographer friend of mine did. I love them so much! Although, I'm at a point where I hate every picture taken of me. I had to fight that feeling.
Hope you enjoy!

A Little Man is On His Way!
My sweet Meemaw on the right, and a few of my nieces and nephews.
I love this picture so much!
Here are just a few pictures from our baby shower.
Had such a wonderful time! It was truly amazing! All of our friends and family were such blessings and gave more than we could even have imagined!
It was a "Little Man" Theme, which turned out so cute! Now we just really can't wait to meet him!

Things that make me realize I'm pregnant
- I've completely lost all train of thought, all the time. Words that I've been spelling my whole life? Yeah, can't remember how to spell them randomly. I will also stop in mid sentence of a conversation because I have no idea what I was saying. This is pretty annoying.
- I now grunt like a pig when I am getting out of the car, a chair, or bed. Boyfriend thinks this is hilarious?
- All my old dresses are now my new shirts.
- I cry, and tear up at stupid, stupid commercials.
- When washing the dishes, my belly gets a bath.
- When eating anything, my belly part of my shirt gets a taste as well.
- You are always hotter than everyone (wouldn't it be nice if I meant in sense of appearance?) Not only do you grunt like a pig now, but you sweat like one.
- Everyone at the gym looks at you funny, like, really confused as to why you are there. It doesn't make sense to me.
- Even after I eat half of a pizza and all the crazy bread, I'm still going to be hungry in 30 minutes.
- Climbing the stairs to our apartment is one of my biggest accomplishments every single day now.
- One minute Jonathan and I will be joking on each other and the next minute I'm crying. Why? Who knows.
- Naps are a gift from heaven and in my top 3 most valued time of the day.
- Cuddling now includes a body pillow, it gets more love than he does.
- I will sit in Tobyn's nursery for hours, just folding clothes or listening to music. It's one of the most relaxing things in the world.
Being past 30 weeks is a seriously new excitement. Just 9 more weeks to go!

Savvy?
Just some shots of our Savannah trip.
It was so refreshing.
Ate way too much and walked until I thought this child was going to fall out of me.
Really enjoyed spending time with my darlin'. :)

2.25 lbs and 75% complete
Yes, that's a cauliflower.
They tell me our sweet man is about 2. 25 lbs.
OH EM GEE. We are three fourths of a way there!!!!!
Third Trimester babay!
(I'm only slightly excited, obviously)
Enjoying the heck out of all this beautiful weather.
I just love spring. Hopefully we get an actual spring, because we never did find Winter.
I have a birthday next week, and we are going to Savannah, GA.
I am literally too excited. We need a getaway, a "babymoon" I guess is what they call them.
Birthdays are so weird when you get ....older.
I could seriously care less this year. Maybe it's because we are young and broke, and don't get to do much.
Except go to Savannah, and take pictures of beautiful, wonderful things.
Just being given the opportunity to do that, and hold my sweetheart's hand at the same time is more than enough for me :)

rutabaga baby.
25 Weeks today... And I'm feeling it.
Apparently.... he's the size of a rutabaga?
Probably the most unattractive vegetable I've ever came in contact with.
But, I'm pretty positive baby boy is the cutest thing I'll ever come in contact with, next to his daddy ;)
June, hurry and be here.
